Unfortunately, in recent years Islam has come to the forefront in the mainstream media in a negative way, highlighting the religion in a false and inauthentic manner. In response to this, the Islamic Diversity Centre has organised a number of public events to tackle and shed light on these topics from an authentic Islamic perspective. The events are usually facilitated in a panel fashion, where guest speakers are invited to sit on the panel and answer questions from the audience. The panel is generally made up of 3 or 4 representative speakers who are both Muslim and non-Muslim experts in various areas, community leaders and representatives from the local authorities.
The audience generally exists out of a non-Muslim majority, which is the Islamic Diversity Centre’s targeted audience.
